Our Kennel Assistants - Our health care team is made complete with our caring kennel assistants. They assist our veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians during examination, treatment, and general care of our patients - your pets. They are also responsible for maintenance of the hospital, bathing and feeding the hospitalized and boarded pets, and cleaning their cages. And, they are happy to assist clients bring their pets to and from their car and to carry pet food.

Cindy Cafagna joined our health care team in 2007. Cindy is following her passion for animal care and is enrolled at Mercy College in their veterinary technician program. At home, she cares for 5 cats, 3 dogs, 1 bird and 1 guinea pig.
Jonathan Moran has been here since 2006. His favorite pets are shepherds, pit bull terriers, rottweilers, and other large breed dogs. At home, Jon presently cares for 1 cat and 2 dogs.
Mary Oddoux joined our health care team in 2007. She and her family have been involved in pet rescue for many years, and they presently care for 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 bearded dragons! Mary is a student at New Rochelle High School and hopes to become a veterinarian.
Sergio Palacios has been here since 2003. His prior experience includes working at an emergency veterinary clinic where he learned to care for emergency and critical care patients. At home, he cares for 1 cat named Maui.
Zachary Pollack has been a kennel assistant since 2008. His prior experience involved volunteering at a local animal shelter. Zach is a student at Edgemont High School and cares for 1 guinea pig, 1 turtle, and 1 dog.
Samantha Rivera has been here since 2006. She is a “legacy” assistant, as her mom worked in the same position here at Central Animal Hospital over 20 years ago! Sam’s family has always cared for dogs and they presently have 2 rescue dogs and 2 fish. Samantha is currently a student at the University of Delaware as a pre-veterinary major, and works at Central Animal Hospital during school holidays.
Dalia Serrano is a student of St. Petersburg College in their veterinary technican program. Her goal is to become a licensed veterinary technician in an emergency hospital. She joined our health care team in 2007 and has a special interest in reptiles, as she cares for 5 corn snakes, 1 carpet python, 1 california milk snake, and 2 bearded dragons. She also lives with 1 cat, 2 dogs, and 2 ferrets!
